Changes in v2.2:

  • Don't log the most common TS2 communication errors; fills up log.
  • Tweaked thread synchronization method for LCD updates.
  • Added more error messages around LCDMon.exe launching.
  • One single processor machines, keep the TS2 interface thread at normal priority.
  • If net I/O initialization failed, retry at intervals.

Is there a trick to get the "net meters" to work? I have not seen them work yet since I install this app. I started with ver 2.0 and have the latest now. The CPU and memory seem to work.

Allow me to quote myself:

Quote:
Starting with this version, I need users reporting a problem to include the 'errors.txt' file (if it exists). It will be created in the same directory as LCDSirReal.exe is located when an error is detected.

Changes in v2.3:

  • Calculate daylight savings time status on initialization.
  • Immediately terminate LCDSirReal when system shutdown detected.
  • Use alternate method of detecting PID's on Windows XP and above.
  • Tweaked TS2 mutex timeout.
  • Removed even more redundant TS2 errors from the log.
  • Improved shutdown sequence handling.

Sorry, didn't know anything about the "errors.txt" file. I have not seen any yet. Downloaded new version and appears to work the same. I will keep an eye out for that errors.txt file and post it if I see it.

Thanks

Nice piece of software, I use this little and very suefull widjet. So far everything looks good besides that the net doesn't register as active (in-out-tot =0).

here's what a clean error.txt state. Of course all of this seems to me, to be written in chineese.

Code:
2006-09-21 12:46:35 | src/lcd.cpp(393) | LCD error 'The pipe has been ended.  '
2006-09-21 12:46:36 | src/lcd.cpp(524) | LCD thread defaulted on lcdupdaterequest (=10)  | 0000007e=The specified module could not be found.
2006-09-21 12:46:36 | src/main.cpp(249) | LCD update failed
2006-09-21 12:46:36 | src/lcd.cpp(597) | LCD error 'The pipe is being closed.  '
2006-09-21 12:46:36 | src/lcd.cpp(602) | LCD error 'The pipe is being closed.  '

I hope it is fixable... if not... I'll live without it.

Incidentally... As I understood by reading some threads, CPU temperature is a very complex thing to implement, but I wonder if there is a remote possibility to see such feature in upcomming versions.

Thanks for having brough this LCD marvel, and shared it with us, poor clueless development inepts ;)

Here is my config:
Winxp, G15 Software 1.02.218, using lcdsirreal 2.23

Since you're not getting an errors.txt, could you run a debugging version of the applet that'll provide me with more information?

Got an errors.txt file:

2006-09-24 13:23:47 | src/mod_ts2.cpp(372) | TS2 mutex timed out | 000036b7=The requested lookup key was not found in any active activation context.

But as you can see it has nothing to do with the net meters. (I think)

Really nice mod - works well.

Only 1 request though, is it possible to turn off the cpu monitor or at least slow the sample rate a bit? Annoys me having it shoot up and down so quickly out of the corner of my eye all the time.

Would it be viable to have it monitor hard disk space or something like that instead?

Cheers
